Fisher Barton Quality

Fisher Barton’s Quality System is established with the understanding that our customers’ standards, regulations, and specifications are our standards, regulations, and specifications. Consistent performance is everything when it comes to a customer’s critical requirements. We demonstrate our commitment to customer satisfaction, quality, and safety through our management system certifications and registrations. Each business unit maintains its quality systems based on the needs of our customers. Even though each business unit’s quality management system is certified individually the ONE Fisher Barton philosophy fosters a  network of Quality and Engineering professionals that work together to satisfy all our customers’ needs.  Fisher Barton’s Quality Systems are robust, stable, and consistently produce high-quality products. We have strived to create an environment of continuous improvement where the best performance and customer service make Fisher Barton a valued partner for our customers. Copies of our various certifications are listed below.

Our Quality Team

Operating in a rapidly changing environment our people remain our best competitive advantage. Each Fisher Barton business unit has a dedicated Quality team of individuals and state-of-the-art equipment that focuses on ensuring that the products being produced meet our customers’ requirements. The ONE Fisher Barton philosophy has led to the establishment of a global Quality Council comprised of quality professionals from each business unit. Their mission is to ensure:

  • A culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence is established.
  • Tools related to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma are deployed in a standard manner.
  • Resources, both human and capital, are shared to assure the needs of all customers are met efficiently and economically.
  • Common approaches and knowledge are shared across all business units.
  • Delivery of products that meet our customers’ specifications in a safe and sustainable manner.

Customer Satisfaction

To position Fisher Barton for success we must ensure that we integrate high-quality customer service into every interaction point. While many companies will state that customer satisfaction is important Fisher Barton has established Customer Focus Work Teams (CFWT’s) throughout the organization aligned with specific customers or business sectors. Each cross-functional team is comprised of representatives from sales, purchasing, engineering, quality, scheduling, and finance. Through consistent meetings, key metric management, and regular reporting to Executive Leadership it is the CFWT’s mission to excel at developing strong relationships within the customer base by measuring performance and listening to the customer. Good customer service does not have an endpoint thus these agile teams must continually engage with the customer to meet their ever-changing needs to ensure that their customer experience exceeds their expectations.

Continuous Improvement at Fisher Barton:

Continuous improvement at Fisher Barton is driven through our Lean (Elimination of waste) and Six Sigma (Reduction in variation) programs. Realizing that continuous improvement is a journey and not a destination, motivates us to create reliable and repeatable processes within our organization. We recognize that all employees have expertise that can help identify specific opportunities for improvement, thus we have established training programs focused on various Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Examples include Green Belt certification, Kaizen, 5S, visual management, problem-solving, mistake-proofing, and numerous other tools. Using data and quantitative methods for analysis and decision-making, we have found that a better understanding of the process drives additional performance improvements. Business unit management teams oversee the identification and completion of individual projects, based on specific needs at each facility. Common methodologies and toolsets are deployed across the organization with best practices and lessons learned shared amongst the business units. With our increased awareness of Lean and Six Sigma practices our goal is to develop and deploy new manufacturing and administrative processes “right the first time”.
